Welcome to my website! My name is Maria, and I am a passionate history and archaeology teacher originally from Greece. Twelve years ago, I moved to Canada to be with my husband. Growing up i always had love for my homeland, its rich history, vibrant customs, delicious cuisine, breathtaking landscapes, and deep-rooted religion. This profound connection to my heritage inspired me to follow a career path dedicated to exploring and teaching the wonders of our past.

In Canada, I've had the privilege of working and socializing with people from diverse backgrounds, including Greeks from the diaspora and their children. I have taught students of various ages and nationalities, and through these interactions, I noticed a gap. Despite the excellent work of Greek communities, organizations, schools, and churches in North America, something was missing in preserving our traditions in a way that resonated with the modern generation.

Driven by a desire to bridge this gap, I embarked on a journey to find innovative ways to keep our traditions alive without altering their essence. After extensive research and countless hours of studying new fields and learning new platforms, I discovered the power of digital products. This discovery led to the creation of Bombarta, a collection of interactive and engaging digital resources designed to make learning Greek fun and easy for the children, but also affordable and hassle free for the parents, which I know how difficult it is nowadays to devote time teaching Greek to their children, despite their love and passion for their homeland and the desire they have to pass it on to their children.

Bombarta begins with flashcards covering various topics such as animals, colors, shapes, numbers, parts of the body, emotions, and more. These resources are just the start, with many new and interactive activities planned to transform learning Greek into a delightful experience for our young students. My goal is to create an online Greek school that reaches the ends of the earth, ensuring our beautiful language and culture thrive for generations to come.
